The pulpit ministry at New Hope is a vital tool to help us mature in our
faith. The preaching is mainly an exposition of some specific text of
scripture. We like to go through entire books of the Bible, but we also may
do a topical study when it is appropriate. The goal is to produce a
balanced group of disciples over the long haul. Pastor Jon likes to vary
his preaching style according to the type of biblical literature being
studied. For example, Paul's epistles can be fairly didactic, but in the
Gospels we may have a dramatic first person narrative. Hopefully, this
makes the passage clear and makes the work of listening a little easier.
